WHAT'S A GOOD COPYWRITER WORTH?

Legendary copy guru Maria Veloso once described copywriting as ‘where the rubber meets the road’.

 

What she meant was that you can spend as much as you like on the engine, the body, the chassis – but if the tyres aren’t up to it, the car won’t perform. After all, they’re your only connection with terra firma.

When a prospect reads your copy, there are no sales people on hand to explain anything that’s not clear. No presenters to blow the audience away with their charisma. As far as communicating goes, you’re on your own. 

 

It means that online or offline, copy is king. And you need a skilled, experienced and talented copywriter to deliver it.

In other words, a copywriter like myself.

Prior to turning freelance, I was an in-house copywriter for several leading marketing communications agencies, including McCanns, J. Walter Thompson and Brann. I’ve also worked for the marketing department of IT giant Hewlett Packard. 

​

As a freelancer, I’ve been commissioned by a wide range of blue chip agencies and client companies, B2B and B2C, as well as SME’s and not-for-profit organisations. My  copy and concepts have won their fair share of awards in it’s time, too.

Rewinding a little further, I took an MA in Marketing at the University of Lancaster, to add to my B.Sc from the University of Bradford.
